Family Ministry
- Splash Zone – On Sunday, September 12th, we will kick off Splash Zone at 10:05 am in the Family Life Center. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to come!
- Youth Wednesday Nights – Synergy Cafe resumes August 25th at 7:00 – 8:15 pm here on campus. The first half of the Fall we will hear stories from the Faith(full). Each week our message will be topically themed and finish with an interview with people from our Church who have been Faith(full) in the face of fear, loss, the unknown, peer pressure, stress and brokenness. You will not want to miss it!
- The Articles – The Articles is a series developed with Pastors Jason and Josiah where we explore the Statement of Faith from our Church, Who We Are, and Where We Came From … this is a perfect opportunity for students to develop a more full understanding of following Jesus and gain a deeper insight into truths already known.
- Six Flags Magic Mountain- Friday, September 10th, 6:00 pm – Midnight. Point Loma Nazarene University will rent the park for a private party. Tickets can be pre-purchased for $30 per person from the Church Office and picked up the week of hte event. Middle School and High School Students can purchase tickets which includes charter bus transportation to and from Six Flags for $35. Buses leave at 3:30 pm and return between 1:30 – 2:00 am on Saturday morning. Bring the family and invite your friends! Turn in your money to Rhonda Maine by September 5th. - Family Times Packs- Family Times Packs are a resource that provides easy-to-use tools to help equip parents for making the most of everyday moments to instill spiritual truths in the lives of their children. Pick up your pack this Sunday at the Splash Check-in counter.
Worship
- Seed of Hope- On Saturday and Sunday, September 18th & 19th, two of our friends from the Seed of Hope Ministry in Durban, South Africa will be here to give their testimonies and share about the community center. A dessert potluck and time of fellowship will follow SNC on the 18th to be able to welcome and visit with them individually. All the congregation is invited to come and hear what they will be sharing and enjoy dessert with us.
- Baptism- The next Baptiusm is scheduled for October 23rd & 24th. If you would like to be baptized during one of our services that weekend, please contact the church office at 399-3303 and plan to attend Baptism Orientation on one of the following dates: Adults October 14th at 6:30 pm in the Resource Room (across from the restrooms in teh Family Life Center) or October 17th between services in room 522 (upstairs in the Family Life Center); Children check with Pastor Debbie; Youth check with Pastors Jason or Josiah.

- Women’s Bible Studies – Several Women’s Groups will resume with new Bible Studies this month. Please call the Church Office at 399-3303 for additional information about times and places.
- Iron Sharpens Iron Golf Retreat - The 10th annual Labor Day Golf Retreat at the La Quinta Resort near Palm Springs is approaching September 5th – 7th. Pick up a brochure at the Information Window for information. Registration deadline: August 8th.

- Speed Bowling- Join us for speed bowling Friday, September 10th at Westchester Bowl at 7:00 pm then Rosemary’s afterward! Cost, $7 plus whatever you spend at Rosemary’s. - Layman’s Retreat – September 17th – 19th with Pastor Les Shelton. Pick up a registration form at the Information Window or online at www.ccdistrict.com.
- MOPS & MOMSnext 2010- Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) will be taking applications for enrollment. MOPS meets twice a month for food, connecting with other moms, crafts and speakers on a variety of topics. Childcare is provided on a first come first served basis. - Passionate Hearts- Passionate Hearts is a Christ-centered, curriculum-based, highly confidential support group for adult women recovering from childhood sexual abuse. If you have experienced sexual abuse andarestruggling with depression, fear, anger, shame, relationship problems, sexual dysfunction, addictions, an eating disorder, loneliness, distance from God, or low self-concept, you might benefit from participating in this group. Leave your confidential voice message at 331-3392 and your call will be returned as soon as possible. - Bold Love – Another wonderful group for women recovering from childhood sexual abuse. Call 324-4070.
- Central California Women’s Conference- October 29th – 30th at the Visalia Convention Center with Special Guest Speaker, Sarah Kelly. Cost $50 per person before September 15th, $65 after. Registration deadline: October 20th. Pick up a form at the Information Window.
- One Year Bible Reading Plan – The One Year Bible reading schedules are located in the brochure racks, at The Connection Table and in the Cafe area. OR, you can download the whole year plan by clicking here!

- College Students – Help us stay in contact with you while you are away. We know that for the most part, each year brings either a new address and/or dorm room assignment. we would love to stay in touch and maybe even stop by for a visit! So please, before you leave in a few weeks, let us know where you’ll be.
Service
- Alabaster Offering- September is Alabster Offering Month, another opportunity for us to share in spreading the message of salvation around the world. It’s soexciting to read about the thousands of new converts and then to realize how we can help by providing churches for the thousands of new converts and then to realize how we can help by providing churches for them to worship in. Start saving your nickels, dimes and quarters now (dollars too) to turn in and help in this special cause. Alabster boxes are available at the Information Window.
- Help Watch MOPS Kids- Do you need volunteer hours? Want experience working with young children? Could you come hold a baby? Sing Old MacDonald with a 2-year-old? Or color with a preschooler for a couple of hours? We need you!!! Our MOPS program needs volunteers to play with and supervise preschool children while giving MOPS moms an opportunity to participate in the ministry. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday mornings of each month from 9:00 – 11:30 am. Need more information? Contact Lynn Bradshaw at 589-1743 or bradshaw4@sbcglobal.net.
- Hope Center – The Hope Center currently needs adult clothing (both men and women’s).
- Work Weekend at Quaker Meadows – All able-bodied persons are needed to help with various projects at Quaker Meadows. Call the church office for more information 399-3303.
- Trunk ‘n Treat – Before we know it, Trunk ‘n Treat will be here! Please consider hosting a “trunk” for this fun family event. Need ideas? Contact Pastor Debbie at 399-3303.
